Covid-19 News and Updates
On March 30, 2020, the Supervisors of Hickory Township held an emergency meeting to adopt an emergency declaration effective immediately with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic. This will officially be adopted by resolution at the April 6, 2020, monthly meeting and will remain in effect until May 4, 2020.
April 6, 2020, Monthly Meeting
As required by the Sunshine Law, the regular monthly meeting of the Township Supervisors will still be held on Monday, April 6, 2020, at 7:00 P.M. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the nation, this meeting WILL NOT be open to the public. However, it will be live-streamed on Facebook so that everyone will be able to attend via the Internet. You will need a Facebook account (which is free), and then you can do a search for the Hickory Township Facebook page (this is the one with the picture of the township building and three Supervisors). This platform will also allow for comments and questions from viewers during the meeting. We also suggest and encourage any concerns or questions to be addressed to the Supervisors prior to the meeting. You can do this on this website by clicking the Contact tab above and sending your message. Alternatively, you can email the township at firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask that these comments and questions be submitted by 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting so that we are sure to see them.
The 2020 road maintenance project bids will be opened at this meeting as advertised. Anyone wishing to bid can mail or drop their bids off at the Township Municipal Building located at 2375 Eastbrook Road, New Castle, PA 16105 by 12:00 p.m. on April 6, 2020. Since the township building is closed to the public, if hand-delivering bids, they may be placed in the mailbox at the road. Please DO NOT put these in the boxes mounted on the front of the building. One is the sewer payment box and the other is the tax payment box. The township secretary does not have access to them. If you prefer, you can phone the township secretary on arrival at the municipal building and she will take them from you at the door.
